Even the most avid skiers find themselves needing to refuel at times and for that very reason, Tignes’ mountain pit stops cover everything from the long boozy lunch on sun drenched terraces to the quick ski in, grab a coffee and go. There really are so many options from La Fornet to Les Brevieres we couldn’t list them all but we have shortlisted some of our favourites below:
- Lo Soli – A great chance to eat well and not break the bank. Lo Soli is a big self-service restaurant at the top of the Chaudanne lift with reasonably priced food. We recommend the omelettes! They’re easily big enough to share.
- Le Panoramic – A fantastic restaurant in an unbeatable location at the foot of the Grand Motte Glacier. Their menu is aimed at the fine dining palette and certainly won’t have you rushing to get back on to your skis.
- L’Armailly – Not quite a mountain restaurant as you will need to take off your skis and walk across a small bridge but it’s definitely worth timing your ski down to Les Breviere with a lunch stop here. We highly recommend the pizzas.
For the non-skiers in your party, there are plenty of opportunities for them to catch up with you on the mountain and hear the tales of your day so far. We would suggest L’Alpage at the top of the Chaudanne lift, Le Panoramic which is accessible by the funicular to the glacier or La Toviere which over looks both Tignes and Val d’Isere.
